Parker McCall

United States Air Force Veteran (E-5), Aerospace Engineering student, and Maker. I work as a Propulsion Engineer at NC State's Liquid Rocketry Lab, where I design and manufacture bi-propellant propulsion hardware. My interests span across aerospace design, CAD, coding, fabrication, and prototyping. From rocket systems and custom RC aircraft to metalworking, woodworking, and 3D printing, I enjoy solving problems by designing, building, and testing real-world engineering solutions.

My first year at NC state was spent as a political science major with an intent to pursue a law degree after undergrad. I realized my love for the law was being consistently overshadowed by my love for building and aviation. in janurary of 2025, I CODA'd into Aerospace Engineering and have loved every second of it, even with no engineering background or STEM parent. I have a passion for building so deeply embedded into me that I actually have to force myself to stop trying to design, develop, and manufacture a solution for every problem I come across.

Ater my tour in South Korea, I was stationed at Aviano Air Base in Italy. This was by far my favorite duty station and one that came with a promotion and a house in the mountains. Although my work schedule was brutually stressful and unforgiving, I loved Italy and still continue listening and speaking in italian as often as I can.

My first long term tour was at my arrival to Kunsan Air Base, South Korea. I showed up after my deployment with skills, expertise, and an ambitious drive that outclassed my peers who were higher in rank and age. This led to me getting multiple awards, a promotion, and a change in duty title.
